Raxaul (Bihar) :  The Sashastra Seema Bal  (SSB) personnel headed by Sub-Inspector (SI) Dayanand Kushawaha, on a tip off, stopped a car coming from 348 pillar side located on no man’s land on Indo-Nepal border near Gurhenwa roundabout under Kundawa-Chainpur police station (PS) in East Champaran District in North Bihar on June 27, 2021, evening, and seized 8 China made Drone and Cameras and arrested  3 occupants of the car.

The Drones and ameras were packed in 8 cartons and were being smuggled through open border from Nepal to into Bihar. Chinese  Drones have been seized for the first time by any security agency on this border.

SI, SSB, Dayanand Kushwaha, of  20 Battalion, posted at Guabari  border out post (BOP)  on porous Indo-Nepal border, said that he along with SSB  personnel was busy checking  of vehicles on Gurhenwa – Dhaka road  and  the China made Drones  were  seized  from a car  bearing Bihar registration number. Three persons were  arrested  from the car who were latter identified as  Vicky Kumar of  Bairganiya in Sitamarhi District in North Bihar, Rahul Kumar  and Krishnandan Kumar  of  Kundawa Chainpur in East Chamran. They were  quizzed by SSB officials and handed over to Kundawa Chainpur  PS for necessary action.

SHO, Kundawa Chainpur  PS, Mithilesh Kumar, said  that a case of  smuggling has been instituted  against three arrested  persons  and they have been remanded to judicial custody.

An SSB sleuth of 47 Battalion, on the other hand, seized Charas worth Rs 2.5 crore on Bypass road at Raxaul in East Champaran District on June 26, 2021,  and  arrested one  Shamir Sheikh  of Raxaul,  who  was carrying this narcotics, to  deliver it to another smuggler of  Uttar Pradesh.

Smuggling  of contraband  items from Nepal into India through  the 726 km long porous border has become quite rampant flood and lockdown restrictions notwithstanding. Charas , Heroine, Ganja, Foodgrains, Fertilisers, and even diesel and petrol, wood logs  are being smuggledinto Bihar by gang of smugglers. Talking to this scribe, a senior n SSB official said that it is not practically possible to completely check smuggling through the border because it is  open border, The SSB of India  and Armed Force  of Nepal have jointly launched patrolling on the border to check smuggling.
