Bhabhua : Kaimur police arrested four persons including kingpin of a gang of liquor smugglers from National Highway at Durgawati village under same police station in Kaimur district on June 27, 2021, when he was returning in his Scorpio after delivering Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) in Rohtas district.
Police also seized a truck and Scorpio along with their drivers and arrested the person to whom IMFL was delivered. The arrested liquor smugglers were identified as Firoz Alam, son of late Hanif Shah of Kadhwan village under Nagar Utadhi inĀ Garhwa District in Jharkhand; Vijay Kumar Patel, son of Sheshmuni Patel of Gairaha village under Kapsethi police station in Varanasi District in Uttar Pradesh; Dabloo Kumar Gupta, son of Vishwanath Gupta of Bahluadi village under Indrapuri police station in Rohtas District in Bihar; and the kingpin of the gang Atul Singh, son of Pyare Lal Singh of Gairaha village under Kapsethi police station in Varanasi District in Uttar Pradesh. Police lodged a named FIR against the arrested persons with Durgawati police station and sent them to jail after interrogation.
SHO, Durgawati PS, said that Atul gave a slip to police every time and continued supplying IMFL from Uttar Pradesh in the bordering areas of Rohtas, Kaimur, and Buxar besides Aurangabad and Gaya and other districts. At last police,on the direction of Kaimur SP and Police headquarters, laid trap and when Atul was returning to Varanasi after delivering IMFL in Rohtas district, arrested him and on his revelation, they arrested the drivers of the truck and the Scorpio and the person to whom IMFL was delivered in Rohtas. The SHO further said that Atul with the help of his aides had supplied IMFL worth crores of rupees during lockdown .
