Motihari : Bankatawa Block in East Champaran District in North Bihar has been declared hundred percent vaccinated block in the district by the District
Administration. Bankatawa Block has become first block in Bihar where cent percent 18 + residents have been administered the !st dose of Covid vaccine. There are 27 blocks in East Champaran District.
Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey, in a tweet, has thanked the people of 10 panchayats under Bankatawa Block for cent percent vaccination in their respective area. He said Bankatawa Block has become first block in the state to be fully vaccinated. East Champaran DM Shirshat Kapil Ashok has also thanked the people of this block situated near Indo-Nepal border and has distributed certificates among panchayat representatives of the block for extending full support to the vaccination drive.
According to a press release issued by the Health Department in the district, East Champaran District has witnessed a downward trend in detection of new Covid-19 cases with only 3 people testing positive for covid- 19 on June 27, 2021. It says that 6,68,070 persons have been administer 1st dose of Covid vaccine
while 70,968 people have been administered the 2nd jab in the district. There are 128 Active cases of covid 19 in the district.
Health Department sources said mass vaccination was the only way to flatten the Covid- 19 curve in the district and due to the efforts of more than 300 health
workers, doctors, social workers, panchayat representatives, and administrative officials it has become a reality now.
