New Delhi : India recorded 50,848 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally to 3,00,28,709 cases in the country at 8 am on June 23, 2021. On the other hand, a total of 68,817 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the country in last 24 hours taking the tally of patients cured so far to 2,89,94,855 on June 23, 2021. Daily recoveries continue to outnumber the Daily New Cases for the 41st consecutive day. A total of 17,969 more recoveries were reported during the last 24 hours as compared to the daily new cases.
The Recovery Rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients improved to 96.56% in the country on June 23, 2021, a sustained increasing trend. Weekly Positivity Rate was 3.12% on the day. Daily positivity rate was 2.67%, less than 5% for 16th consecutive days. The country recorded 1,358 new deaths due to Covid-19 taking the toll to 3,90,660 in the country on June 23.
On a downward trajectory, India’s Active Caseload declined to 6,43,194 on June 23, 2021, the lowest in 82 days. The Active cases count dropped by 19,327 cases in last 24 hours. India administered 54.24 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
In yet another significant development, India’s cumulative vaccination coverage exceeded 29 Crore on June 22, 2021. A total of 29,46,39,511 vaccine doses have been administered through 39,49,630 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am on June 23, 2021. A total of 54,24,374 vaccine doses were administered in last 24 hours. The new phase of universalisation of Covid-19 vaccination commenced from June 21, 2021.
With substantially ramped up testing capacity across the country, a total of 19,01,056 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the country. Cumulatively, India has conducted 39,59,73,198 tests so far.
