Ara : Two persons including a woman were killed when the motorcycle they were riding collided head-on with a speeding Safaricar between Siyadih and Badahara villages on Ara-Sasaram main road under Charpokhari police station (PS)in Bhojpur District in South Bihar on June 20, 2021, late evening, when they were returning after attending a marriage ceremony.
The deceased were identified as Asha Devi, 40, wife of Tengari Ram of Bhedari village under Ayar police station in Bhojpur District, and her son Vikesh Kumar, 22. Her nephew Sonu Kumar, 16, son of Kamlesh Ram of Pakawa Tola undr Piro PS in Bhojpur District, was seriously injured. Police are investigating the matter after institution of an FIR.
SHO, Charpokhari PS, Om Prakash, said that Asha Devi along with her son Vikesh Kumar had gone to Bahari Mahadev in Piro to attend the marriage of daughter of her sister. When she was returning home at village Bhedari along with her son and nephew on a motorcycle on June 20, 2021,late evening, a speeding Safari car collided head-on with the motorcycle near Siyadiha village killing Asha Devi and her son Vikesh Kumar on the spot while Sonu Kumar was seriously injured. Police admitted the injured to Ara Sadar Hospital but the doctor referred him to Patna Medical College and Hospital in view of his serious condition.
In another incident, an unidentified woman was killed while her son was injured near Charpokhari police station in the afternoon in an accident when they were returning after attending a house warming event. Police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and admitted the injured there.
