 Buxar : Police on June 20, 2021, claimed to have cracked the case of loot of Rs 6.5 lakh cash from a Buxar trader Jitendra Tripathy by arresting four criminals and recovering Rs 1.67 lakh of the looted amount. Apart from recovering Rs 1.67 lakh cash, Buxar police also seized a car, a motorcycle, and arms from the possession of  four arrested criminals. Later,  police sent them to jail after interrogation.

The arrested criminals were identified as Sushil Kumar Pandey, an employee in the shop, and Ayush Kumar Sinha alias Shivam alias Suggi, driver of a lady doctor of Buxar, both residents of Veer Kuer Singh Colony, Buxar, Vikas Singh and Hareram Singh of a village falling under Dinara police station in Rohtas district. Ayush Kumar Singh was wanted in a criminal case in Uttar Pradesh (UP) and so he started working as a car driver.

Buxar SP Neeraj Kumar Singh said that three motorcycle borne  armed criminals had snatched Rs 6.5 lakh from Jitendra Tripathy, owner of an electronics shop on bypass near Jyoti Prakash Chowk under Buxar Town police station (PS) on June 18, 2021, night,  when he returned after collecting money from customers at Ara and Bihia in Bhojpur District and entered his shop. He lodged an FIR with the police suspecting his employee Sushil Kumar Pandey’s hand in it.

After institution of FIR, police swung into action and identified the miscreants from the CCTV footage. Police, following mobile surveillance, traced the location of the criminals and conducted raids at a village under Sikraul police station and arrested four miscreants. They confessed their involvement in the loot case. Police also recovered Rs 1.67 lakh, three pistols, cloths, car, and motorcycle from their possession. The SP said that police arrested two of the three miscreants of Rohtas while one is absconding and added that police are conducting raids to arrest him and recover the rest of the looted cash.

The SP said that the employee of the shop Sushil Kumar Pandey was keeping a close watch on the movements of businessman Jitendra Tripathy for the last several days and when he got an opportunity, he along with four others looted cash from him.
