Patna : India were all out fora a modest 217 in 92.1 overs in their first innings in WTC Final against New Zealand (NZ) at The Rose Bowl, Southampton, UK, on Day 3 on June 20, 2021, with fast medium bowler Kyle Jamieson taking 5/31 in 22 overs while fellow fast medium bowlers Trents Boult and Neil Wagner took two wickets each. Tim Southee took one wicket. Jamieson’s five wickets included the wickets of opener Rohit Sharma, captain Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Ishant Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah.

Virat Kohli and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane added 61 runs for the 4th wicket. Kohli fell to Jamieson for 44 in 132 balls with 1 four making it 149/4. Pant fell to Jamieson for 4 making it 156/5. Rahane fell to Neil Wagner for 49 in 117 balls hitting 5 fours and it was 182/6. Spin all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin fell to Southee for 22 in 27 balls with 3 fours and it was 205/7. Ishant Sharma fell to Jamieson for 4 making it 213/8.  Bumrah also fell to Jamieson for zero and it was 213/9. Spin all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja fell to Trent Boult for 15 in 53 balls with 2 fours and India were all out for 217.

In reply, NZ were 7/0 after 4 overs with Tom Latham unbeaten on 7 while Devon Conway yet to open his account.
