Batting first, openers : Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill added 62 runs for the first wicket. Rohit fell to fast medium bowler Kyle Jamieson for 34 in 68 balls hitting 6 fours. NZ had won the toss but opted tobowl. The first day’s-lay was washed out due to rain.
