Patna : Netherlands, the 1976 semi-finalists, defeated Austria 2-0 in a Group C match of UEFA Euro 2020 at Johan Cruijff ArenA, Amsterdam, Netherlands, on June 18, 2021, and qualified for the last 16 of the tournament winning both their Group stage matches. Memphis Depay scored goal in the 11th minutes while Denzel Dumfries scored goal in 67th minute, his 2nd goal in Euro 2020. With it, Netherlands have become the Group C winners after 2 games. Austrian has won one match and lost another.
The Netherlands completely dominated the game. David Alaba’s foul against Dumfries provided Netherlands an early penalty which Depay converted. The Dutch, however, also missed several chances during the match. Dumfries’ defence was very good during the match. No player was shown Red Card during the match.
