Ara : Three minor girls drowned to death in a pond near Panchama railway crossing at village Katar under Hasan Bazaar police outpost on June 11, 2021, afternoon.The villagers, however, rescued another minor girl Anjum Khatoon, daughter of Rozid Ansari, and admitted her to Piro CSC.
Police brought the bodies to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased were identified as Sunaina Kumari, 14, daughter of Manoj Kumar, Razia Khatoon, 11, daughter of Ifzat Ansari, and Nargis Khatoon, 13, daughter of Shahabudding Ansari of the village.
SHO, Hasan Bazaar police outpost, said that four friends Sunaina Kumari, Razia Khatoon, Nargis Khatoon, and Anjum Khatoon went to the field for grazing their goats in the afternoon on June 11, 2021. Meanwhile, they went to a pond near panchama railway crossing at village Katar to take a dip. While taking bath they could not gauge the depth of the pond and were drowned. The locals raised an alarm and rushed to the spot but till that time three of them had died while the villagers rescued the fourth girl.
