Sasaram : Rohtas police have made a major breakthrough in Sanjay Mishra murder case by arresting the main accused Niranjan Rai. Sanjay Mishra was nephew of Congress MLA from Kargahar assembly constituency Santosh Mishra. Niranjan was sent him to jail after interrogation. It was a retaliatory murder. Police are, however, yet to arrest the shooter though they are conducting raids to arrest him.
Rohtas SP Ashish Bharati said that Sanjay Mishra was shot dead on February 27, 2021, and police were investigating the matter.The SP said that the family of Sanjay Mishra had an old enmity with the family of Niranjan Rai. Niranjan Rai’s father was killed earlier and he wanted to take revenge of the murder of his father. He allegedly gave a contract of Rs 17 lakh to a shooter for the purpose. Several persons were killed in enmity in between the two families in the last three decades.
Police have already arrested three persons including the liner and the conspirator in Sanjay Mishra murder case. The SP said that Niranjan Rai hired a contract killer and gave Rs 17 lakh to him to kill Sanjay Mishra to take revenge of the murder of his father.
