New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 9, 2021, expressed sorrow on the deaths of people in a road accident in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. In a tweet, the Prime Minister expressed condolences to the near and dear ones of the victims and prayed for early recovery of the injured.The Prime Minister also announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from the PMNRF for the next of kin of those who have lost their lives. Rs. 50,000 would be provided to those injured.

Prime Minister @narendramodi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from the PMNRF for the next of kin of those who have lost their lives due to a tragic accident in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Rs. 50,000 would be provided to those injured.
It may be mentioned here that 17 persons died and 22 others were injured as a bus going to Delhi from Lucknow collided with a loader coming from opposite direction in Sachendi area in Kanpur District, UP, on June 8, 2021, late evening.
