Patna : World No 1 & top seed Novak Djokovic, 34 Serbia, thirteen-time champion & 3rd seed Rafael Nadal,35, Spain, 10th seed Diego Schwartzman, 28, Argentina, and 18th seed Jannik Sinner, 19, Italy, reached men’s singles the 4th round of  French Open, an ATP Grand Slam tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts, at Stade Roland Garros, Paris France, on June 5, 2021, winning their respective 3rd round matches comfortably.

Djokovic, the winner of 18 Grand Slam singles titles,  drubbed World No 93 Ricardas Berankis, 30, Lithuania, in straight sets 6-1, 6-4, 6-1 in third round on court Philippe Cahtrier on June 5, 2021, winning 6 break points and 5 games ina row during the match. The Serbian fired 5 Aces in the match to just 1 by Berankis. Both the players committed 3 double faults each during thye match. Djokovic, in all, won 87 points during the match to 55 by Berankis.

World 3 Nadal, the winner of 20 Grand Slam singles titles,  thumped World No 45 Cameron Norrie, 25, UK, in straight sets 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 in third round. Nadal, in all, won 92 points during the match to 65 by the Brit. Nadal won the first set breaking Norrie’s service once. But, the second set turned out to be quite dramatic. Norrie broke Nadal’s service first to take a 2-0 lead in the set. But, Nadal soon broke Norrie’s serve thrice to take 4-3 lead. Both the players again traded breaks. Nadal broke Norrie’s serve 4 time in 2nd set while the Brit broke his service twice. Nadal won 6 break points in the match to 2 by Norrie.The Spaniard also won 6 games in a row in the match to 2 by the Brit.

World No 10 Schwartzman beat World No 132 Philipp Kohlschreiber, 37, Germany, in straight sets 6-4, 6-2, 6-1 in 3rd round. Schwartzman won 7 break points during the match to kjust 1 by the German. Schwartzman also won 6 games in a row in the match.

World No 19 Sinner beat World No 105 Mikael Ymer, 22, Sweden, 6-1, 7-5, 6-3 in 3rd round . Sinner won 6 break points in the match to 1 by Ymer. Sinner also fired 5 Aces in the match to none by Ymer. Both the players committed 3 double faults each in the match. The Italian won 7 games in a row to 3 by Ymer. The Italian, in all, won 113 points during the match to 85 by the Swede.
