Patna : World No 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas, 22, Greece, battled past World No 34 seed John Isner, 36, USA, in four-sets to reach the 4th round of French Open 2021 on June 5, 2021. Fifth seed Tsitsipas defeated  Isner 5-7, 6-3, 7-6, 6-1 in 3rd round at Philippe-Chatrier, Stade Roland Garros, Paris, France, overcoming 19 Aces hammered by the American during the match. Tsitsipas fired 8 Aces in the match.

Tsitsipas, however, also committed 5 double faults during the match to 1 by Isner, the 31st seed. But, the Greek won 3 break points too to 1 by Isner. Tsitsipas, in all, won 125 points during the match to 105 by the American. Tsitsipas, the 2020 French semi-finalist, won 5 games in a row in the match to 3 by Isner, who had reached French Open 4th round in 2014, 2016 & 2018 and Wimbledon SF in 2018. Tsitsipas, who had also reached semi-finals of Australian Open in 20219 & 2021, will face 12th seed Pablo Carreno Busta, 29, Spain, in 4th round on June 6, 2021.

World No 1 Novak Djokovic, Serbia, and World No 3 Rafael Nadal, Spain, will also play their respective third round match on June 5, 2021.
