Patna : New Zealand (NZ) were 226/3 in their first innings in the 1st Test against England at Lord’s, London, in the 3rd session of play on Day 1 on June 2, 2021,  with opener Devon Convay batting on an unbeaten 128 hitting 15 fours, his maiden test ton that too on debut,  and Henry Nicholls batting on 35. NZ had won the toss and opted to bat. Twelve overs’-lay  is still left.

NZ openers Tom Latham and Devon Conway added 58 runs for the first wicket. Latham was bowled by Ollie Robinson for 23 in 57 balls with 2 fours. Captain Kane Williamson fell to James Anderson for 13 making it 86/2. Ross Taylor fell to Robinson for 14 and it 114/3. Conway and Nicholls have so far added  111 runs in their unbroken partnershop for the 4th wicket. Conway has become the 12th NZ batman to score ton on debut.
