Ara : Vice-Chancellor (VC), Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara, Dr Devi Prasad Tiwari, was on June 2, 2021, sent on compulsory leave till inquiry against him is completed. VC, Magadh University (MU), Rajendra Prasad,has been given additional charge of VC, VKSU, for the day to day work.
Secretary, Chancellor cum Bihar Governor, Robert L Chongthu, has stated that charges of financial and administrative irregularities were levelled against Dr Devi Prasad Tiwar and so the Chancellor cum Governor office formed a two- member inquiry committee headed by the VC, Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga, Surendra Pratap Singh, to inquire into the matter but neither the VC nor his staffs co-operated with the inquiry committee.
The inquiry committee submitted its report on March 21, 2021, saying that the VC and his staffs did not cooperate and so the committee could not inquire into the matter. At this, the governor office served a show cause notice on the VC, VKSU ,vide letter No 593 dated April 9, 2021, but the VC’s reply was immoderate and false, infructuous, and misleading. The VC wrote everything except the matter related to the charges against him which is not satisfactory and a matter of serious concern, Chongthu said.
Chongthu aid that preventing the inquiry committed from discharging its duty is a serious matter and the conduct of the VC Dr Tiwari is condemnable, immoderate, and indiscipline. ” Your act clearly showed that you did not want to get inquiry done against you which is highly objectionable,” he said and added said that so the Chancellor cum Governor, Bihar, decided to send you on compulsory leave so that impartial inquiry could be conducted against you in connection with financial and administrative irregularities.
