Bettiah : Two persons were killed and one sustained serious bullet injuries in an attack on the house of one Farinder Yadav by six armed persons on May 22, 2021, night, at village Basantpur under Sathi police station (PS) in West Champaran District in North Bihar. An FIR has been lodged with police by the family members of Farinder Yadav against 4 named persons in this connection. Police are investigating the case and raids are on to arrest the accused.
West Champaran SP Upendra Nath Verma said that Farinder Yadav and Munna Yadav of Basantpur village had a long drawn dispute over one Kattha land located near their village. On the May 22, Farinder Yadav and his family members had gone to attend marriage of his son.
Taking advantage of it, Munna Yadav, Chhedi Yadav, Vijay Yadav, and Raju Yadav, with others attacked the house of Farinder Yadav and shot dead Rameshwer Yadav, 40, and Vinod Yadav, both relatives of Farinder Yadav . One Amar lal Yadav, who was also injured in the firing, has been admitted to a private nursing home where his condition is said to be stable.
SHO, Sathi PS, Uday Kumar, said that the bodies were sent to GMCH, Bettiah . SP Verma said that an SIT has been constituted under DSP, Narkatiyaganj, to
investigate this murder case. Tension prevails in and around the village after this incident and police are camping there to maintain law and order.
