New Delhi : India logged 3,62,727 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally to 2,37,03,665 cases in the country at 8 am on May 13, 2021. On the other hand, a total of 3,52,181 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,97,34,823 in the country on May 13, 2021. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients improved to 83.26% on May 13 from 83.04% on May 12, 2021. The country also recorded 4,120 new deaths due to Covid in last 24 hours taking the tally to  2,58,317 on May 13, 2021.

Active cases climbed to 37,10,525 in India on May 13, 2021, an increase of 6,426 cases in last 24 hours, and accounted for 15.65 % of the total Covid-19 cases ( 2,37,03,665) recorded so far in the country. The country has tested 30,94,48,585 samples so far including 18,64,594 samples on May 12, 2021. Meanwhile, a total of 17,72,14,256 people have been vaccinated against Covid-29 in the country so far including 18,94,991 beneficiaries on May 12, 2021, according to Union Health Ministry figure.

The 4,120 new deaths recorded in the country in last 24 hours included 816 in Maharashtra, 516 in Karnataka, 326 in Uttar Pradesh,300 in Delhi, 293 in Tamilnadu, 197 in Andhra Pradesh, 193 in Punjab, 165 in Haryana, 164 in Rajasthan, 153 in Chhattisgarh, 135 in West Bengal, 109 in Uttarakhand, 102 in Gujarat, 97 in Jharkhand, 95 in Kerala, 84 in Madhya Pradesh, 74 in Bihar, 70 in Goa, and 65 in J&K. India had recorded 4,205 new deaths on may 12, 2021.

The Covid-19 death toll in India on May 13, 2021, was : Maharashtra (78,007), Tamilnadu (16,471), Karnataka (20,368), Delhi (20,310), Andhra Pradesh (8,988), Uttar Pradesh (16,369), West Bengal (12,728), Gujarat (8,731), Madhya Pradesh (6,679), Rajasthan (6,158), Punjab (11,111), Telengana (2,834), J&K (2,912), Haryana (6,075), Bihar (3,503), Odisha (2,232), Jharkhand (4,182), Assam (1,909), Uttarakhand (4,123), Kerala (6,053), Chhattisgarh (11,094), Puducherry (1,045), Goa (1,874), Tripura (424), Chandigarh (599), Andaman & Nicobar (81), Himachal Pradesh (2,068), Ladakh (158), Manipur (526), Nagaland (165), Meghalaya (250), Arunachal Pradesh (69), Sikkim (183), Mizoram (23), Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (4), and Lakshadweep (11).
