New Delhi : India logged a new high of 4,12,262 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally to 2,10,77,410 cases in the country at 8 am on May 6, 2021. The country had recorded 3,82,315 Covid-19 on May 5, 2021. On the positive side, a total of 3,29,113 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,72,80,844 on May 6, 2021. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients was 81.99 % in India on May 6, 2021.
Active cases rose to 35,66,398 in India on May 6, 2021, a increase of 79,169 cases in last 24 hours. The country has tested a total of 29,67,75,209 samples so far including 19,23,131 samples on May 5, 2021. Meanwhile, a total of 16,25,13,339 people have so far been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India including 19,55,733 beneficiaries on May 5, 2021, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The Covid-19 death toll jumped to 2,30,168 in India on May 6, 2021, with 3,980 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 920 in Maharashtra, 353 in Uttar Pradesh, 346 in Karnataka, 311 in Delhi, 253 in Chhattisgarh, 181 in Haryana, 141 in Jharkhand, 103 in West Bengal, and 61 in Bihar. India had recorded 3,780 new deaths on May 5, 2021.
