New Delhi : India logged a total of 3,82,315 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally of cases recorded so far in the country to 2,06,65,148 at 8 am on May 5, 2021. In an important development, a total of 3,38,439 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,69,51,731 in the country on May 5, 2021. India also recorded 3,780 new deaths in last 24 hours.
Active cases jumped to 34,87,229 in India on May 5, 2021, an increase of 40,096 cases in the last 24 hours, and accounted for 16.87% of the total Covid-19 cases (2,06,65,148) recorded in the country. The country has tested 29,48,52,078 samples so far including 15,41,299 samples on May 4, 2021. Meanwhile, a total of 16,04,94,188 people have been vaccinated against Covid -19 in India so far including 14,84,989 beneficiaries on May 4, 2021. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients was 82.03^ in India on May 5, 2021. The Covid-19 death toll climbed to 2,26,188 in India on May 5, 2021, with 3,780 new deaths being recorded in last 24 hours.
