Patna : Chennai Super Kings (CSK) demolished Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by a massive 69 runs in the 19th match of IPL 2021 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on April 25, 2021, night, as all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja (spinner) took 3/13 in 4 overs while fellow spinner Imran Tahir took 2/16 in 4 overs. Pacer Shardul Thakur took 1/11 in 4 overs. Jadeja also scored an unbeaten 62 runs just 28 balls hitting 4 fours and 5 sixes. Jadeja was named Player Of The Match. It was CSK’s 4th win in five game. For RCB, it was their first defeat in 5 games.

CSK had won the toss and opted to bat. Batting first, CSK scored 191/4 in 20 overs with opener Faf du Plessis scoring 50 in 41 balls with 5 fours and 1 six while his opening partner Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 33 runs in 25 balls with 4 fours and 1 six. Du Plessis and Gaikwad added 74 runs for the first wicket in 9.1 overs. Suresh Raina fell to fast medium bowler Harshal Patel for 24 in 18 balls hitting 1 four and 3 sixes. Faf du Plessis fell to Harshal Patel for 50 making it 111/3. Ambatai Rayudu also fell to Harshal Patel for 14 in 7 balls hitting a four and a six and it was 142/4. Ravindra Jadeja and captain M S Dhoni (wk) added 49 runs in their unbroken partnership for 5th wicket. Dhoni remained 2 not out. Harshal Patel took 3/51 in 4 overs.

In Reply, RCB scored just 122/9 in 20 overs with opener Devdutt Padikkal scoring 34 in 15 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes while all-rounder Glenn Maxwell scored 22 in 15 balls with 3 fours. Captain Virat Kohli (opener) fell to Sam Curran for 8 runs making it 44/1. Fast bowler Kyle Jamieson scored 16 runs hitting 1 four and 1 six. Mohd Siraj remained unbeaten on 12 hitting 1 six while Yuzvendra Chahal remained not out on 8..
