Ranchi (Jharkhand) : With the scaring spike in new Covid-19 cases continuing in the state for the last two weeks, Jharkhand Government on April 20, 2021, announced lockdown from 6 am on April 22, 2021, up to 6 am on April 29, 2021, naming it as “Health Security Week”.
The decision to enforce the Lockdown was taken after a high level meeting of bureaucrats presided over by Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren in which Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh other senior officers were present.
Besides Essential Services like health services etc, mining, agricultural activities, construction activities have been permitted in the state. Although religious places will remain open but the gathering of devotees has not been allowed. However, central and state government offices will remain open.
Appealing to the people of Jharkhand to observe the lockdown, CM Soren asked them to cooperate with the goverment to check the spread of Covid..19 and break its growing chain.
