Ara : Angry villagers went on rampage after a speeding truck knocked down and injured a youth near village Baruhi  under Sahar police station (PS) in Bhojpur District in South Bihar on April 17, 2021, evening. They pelted police personnel with stones injuring some police personnel including Sub-Inspector, Sahar PS, Sanjay Singh, and also damaged police jeep accusing police of being insensitive towards the injured.

Police had to retreat but after sometime with fresh reinforcement, they returned and controlled the situation. The injured was admitted to Primary Heath Centre (PHC, Sahar. Police also seized the truck though its  driver escaped from the scene.

Birendra Prasad of village Nonaur was going to Baruhi on his Luna. When he reached near Baruhi, a speeding truck dashed his two-wheeler injured him. At the same time, a police jeep passed through there but the driver did not stop despite repeated request by villagers to take the injured to the PHC. Angry over it, the villagers pelted cops with stones injuring SI Sanjay Singh and damaged the police jeep.

SDPO, Piro , Ashok Kumar Azad, said that the police jeep was going to drop someone at Nadhi Check-post and so the driver did not stop the vehicle. He stated that matter is being investigated and police are trying to identify the hoodlums. The villagers, on the other hand, claimed that police did not help the injured despite the order of the Bhojpur SP.
