Patna : Mumbai Indians (MI) scored 150/5 in 20 overs against Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH) in the 9th match of IPL 2021 at M A Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, Tamilnadu, as all-rounder Kieron Pollard scored an unbeaten 35 in 22 balls hitting 1 four and 3 sixes while openers : Rohit Sharma (captain) and Quinton de Kock, scored 40 and 32 runs respectively. Pollard hit Bhuvneshwar Prasad for 2 sixes on successive balls in last over to give MI a competitive total.

Rohit and de Kock added 55 runs for the 1st wicket. Rohit fell to all-rounder Vijay Shankar ( medium fast) for 32 in 25 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Suryakumar Yadav also fell to Vijay Shankar for 10 making it 71/2. De Kock fell to spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman for 40 in 39 balls with 5 fours and it was 98/3. Ishan Kishan also fell to Mujeeb 12 and it was 114/4. All-rounder Hardik Pandya fell to fast medium bowler Khaleel K Ahmed for 7 making it 131/5.

In reply, SRH were 42/0 after 4 overs with Jonny Bairstow unbeaten on 33 hitting 3 fours and 3 sixes and David Warner batting on 8. .
