Patna : Active cases surged to 29,078 in Bihar on April 15, 2021, as 6,133 more persons including 2,195 from Patna, 501 from B hagalpur,  431 from Gaya, 171 from Saran, 145 from Aurangabad, 143 from West Champaran, 123 from Siwan, 112 from Saharsa, 107 from Rohtas, 105 from Vaishali, 55 from Samastipur, 54 from Madhepura, and 49 from Supaul, tested positive for Covid-19 on April 14, 2021. Bihar also recorded 24 new deaths in last 24 hours taking the Covid-19 toll to 1,675 in the state on April 15, 2021.

The Covid-19 cases recorded so far in Bihar jumped to 3,01,304 on April 15, 2021, of which 2,70, 550 patients have been declared cured including 755 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) further dropping to 89.79% from 91.40% on April 14, 2021. Bihar has so far tested 2,49,44,876 samples including 1,01,236 samples on April 14, 2021.

Bihar recorded 24 new deaths in last 24 hours including 7 in Patna, 3 in Gaya, 3 in Katihar, 2 in Darbhanga, 2 in West Champaran, 1 each in Bhojpur, Begusarai, Jehanabad, Munger, Muzaffarpur, Rohtas, and Madhepura. The toll increased to 486 in Patna, 70 in Gaya, 60 in Munger, 54 in Muzaffarpur, 51 in Bhojpur, 47 in Rohtas, 43 in Darbhanga, 39 in Begusarai, 30 in Jehanabad, 26 in West Champaran, 18 in Katihar, and 18 in Madhepura.

Meanwhile, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, and Deputy Chief Ministers Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi, took 2nd dose of vaccine against Covid-19 at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), Patna, on May 15, 2021.
