New Delhi : The terrifying spike in Covid-19 cases continues in India as 2,00,739 new cases were recorded in the country in last 24 hours crossing 2 lakh mark on a single day taking the tally to 1,40,74,564 cases at 8 am on April 15, 2021. The country had recorded new 1,84,372 Covid-19 cases on April 14, 2021. On the other hand, a total of 93,528 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in India in last 24 hours takint the tally to 1,24,29,564 on April 15, 2021. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients further dropped to 88.31% on April 15 from 88.92% on April 14, 2021.
Active cases ( 14,71,877) on April 15, 2021, accounted for 10.46 % of the total Covid cases ( 1,40,74,564) recorded so far in India, a huge jump of 1,06,173 cases in last 24 hours. The country has tested 26,20,03,415 samples so far including 13,84,549 samples on April 14, 2021. Meanwhile, a total of 11, 44,93,238 people have so far been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India including 33,13,848 beneficiaries on April 14, 2021.
The Covid-19 toll jumped to 1,73,123 in India on April 15, 2021, with 1,038 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 278 in Maharashtra, 120 in Chhattisgarh, 104 in Delhi, 73 in Gujarat, 67 in Uttar Pradesh, 63 in Punjab, 51 in Madhya Pradesh, 38 in Karnataka, 31 in Jharkhand, 29 in Rajasthan, 25 in Tamilnadu, 24 in West Bengal, 22 in Kerala, 21 in Bihar, 18 in Andhra Pradesh, 18 in Haryana, 13 in Himachal Pradesh, 13 in Uttarakhand, and 8 in Telengana. India had recorded 1,027 new deaths on April 14, 2021. The case fatality rate further dropped to 1.23% in India on April 15, 2021.
