New Delhi : Under the influence of trough/cyclonic circulations at lower tropospheric levels over south Peninsula, scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) very likely over southwest (SW) Peninsular India during next 5 days. Isolated heavy rainfall also likely over south and ghat areas of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, and Mahe and Coastal & South Interior Karnataka during April 14–16, 2021.

A cyclonic circulation lies over southwest Madhya Pradesh and  neighbourhood at lower levels. Under its influence, isolated rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) very likely over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha during next 4-5 days and over Jharkhand during next 24 hours, according to the National Weather Forecasting Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

A fresh active Western Disturbance is very likely to affect Western Himalayan Region during April 14-17, 2021, and adjoining plains during April 15-17. It is very likely to cause scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning and  gusty winds (30-40 kmph) during April 14-17 over Western Himalayan Region and light isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) over adjoining plains during April 15-17.

Isolated hailstorm also very likely over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan & Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh on April 14, 2021. Isolated heavy rainfall also very likely over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan & Muzaffarabad on April 15 & 16.. Thunderstorm/Duststorm at isolated places also likely over West Rajasthan on  April 14 & 15,  2021, according to a PIB release.

Due to thunderstorm activities over most parts of the country, no significant change in maximum temperatures likely over most parts of the country during next 4-5 days. However, Heat Wave conditions very likely in isolated pockets over Saurashtra and Kutch on April 12, 2021.
