Patna : The Active cases jumped to 2,942 in Bihar including 1,254 in Patna on April 2, 2021, as 836 more persons including 359 from Patna, 80 from Siwan, 42 from Gaya, 30 from Muzaffarpur, 29 from Bhagalpur, 21 each from Katihar and Jehanabad, 18 from Saharsa, 17 each from Rohtas and Purnia, 16 each from Munger and Begusarai, 15 from Saran, 14 from Nawada, and 11 from Jamui, tested positive for Covid-19 on April 2, 2021.

Ten persons each from Bhojpur, Kaimur, and Samastipur, 9 each from Vaishali, east Champaran, Gopalganj, 8 from Madhubani, 7 each from Supaul, Darbhanga, 6 each from Aurangabad and Nalanda, 5 from Madhepura, 4  each from Arwal, Buxar, Lakhisarai, and West Champaran, and 3 each from Araria and  Kishanganj, also tested positive for Covid-19 on April 2, 2021.

With this, the the number of Covid-19 cases recorded so far in Bihar rose to 2,67,513 cases on April 3, 2021. On the other hand, a total of 2,62,988 patients have been declared cured in Bihar including 255 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) dropping to 98.31% on April 3, 2021, from 98.52% on April 2. Bihar has tested 2,38,89,560 samples so far including 63,982 samples on April 2, 2021.

The Covid-19 toll increased to 1,582 in Bihar on April 2, 2021, with 2 new deaths being recorded in the state in last 24 hours including one each in Patna and Bhagalpur. With it, toll increased to 465 in Patna and 84 in Bhagalpur on April 3, 2021.

Meanwhile, the school , colleges, and coaching institutes, which were to re-open on April 5, 2021, will now remain closed till April 11, 2021, in view of surge in Covid-19 cases in the state. A decision to this effect was taken at the meeting Crisis Management Group (CMG) on April 3, 2021.
