New Delhi : The spike in Covid-19 cases continues at an alarming rate as 59,118 new cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,18,46,652 cases at 8 am on March 26, 2021. The silver lining is consistent increase in recoveries as well as a total of 32,987 patients were declared cured / discharged in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,12,64,637 in India on March 26.

The Active cases (4,21,066) on March 26, 2021, accounted for 3.55% of the total Covid-19 cases recorded so far ( 1,18,46,652) in India, an increase of 25,874 cases in last 24 hours. India has tested 23,86,04,638 samples so far including 11,00,756 samples on March 25, 2021. Meanwhile, a total of 5,55,04,440 persons have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India so far including 23,58,731 beneficiaries on March 25, 2021. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients dropped to 95.09% on March 26, 2021, from 95.28% on March 25, 2021.

The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,60.949 in India on March 26, 2021, with 257 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 111 in Maharashtra, 43 in Punjab, 15 in Chhattisgarh, 12 in Kerala, 11 in Tamilnadu, 10 in Karnataka, 9 in Madhya Pradesh, 7 in Gujarat, 7 in Haryana, 5 in Delhi, 4 in Andhra Pradesh, 4 in West Bengal, 4 in Uttar Pradesh, 3 in Telengana, 3 in Chandigarh, 2 in Bihar, and 1 in Uttarakhand. India had recorded 251 new deaths on March 25, 2021.
