Buxar : Police, on a tip off, conducted raids at Nai Bazaar under Buxar town police station (PS) in Buxar District and seized an e-rickshaw along with 715 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and also arrested three liquor smugglers on March 25, 2021.
The arrested liquor smugglers were identified as Nihal Ansari and Chitranjan Kumar of Gajadharganj and Dhanu Kesari of Musafirgnj in Buxar District. A named FIR was lodged with Buxar town PS under Prohibition & Excise Act in this connection and they were sent them to jail after interrogation.
SHO, Buxar town PS, Ranjeet Kumar, said that he got information that a big consignment of IMFL was being brought in by an e-rickshaw to Nai Bazaar to be sold during Holi. He immediately swung into action and with a police force conducted raid at Nai Bazaar and intercepted an e-rickshaw. When the police tried to search the e-rickshaw, three passengers escaped. Police chased and arrested them and also recovered 715 bottles of IMFL from e-rickshaw.
