Patna : India scored a massive 224/2 in the series decider 5th To20 against England at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on March 20, 2021, with captain Virat Kohli scoring an unbeaten 80 runs in 52 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes, his third 70 plus score in the series and overall 28th T20I fifty, and vice-captain Rohit Sharma scoring 64 in 34 balls hitting 4 fours and 5 sixes, playing a few breathtaking shot. It is India’s highest score against England in T20Is. Incidentally, India scored only 3 runs in the first over but later took England bowlers to the cleaner. England were 19/1 after 2 overs.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya remained unbeaten on 39 in 17 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Suryakumar Yadav scored 32 runs in 17 balls hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes. England had won the toss but opted to bowl. It was an explosive batting display by India. India scored 60 runs in  first six over.

Batting first Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who opened the innings for India in the 5th T20I, added 94 runs for the first wicket. Rohit fell to Ben Stokes on the last ball of the 9th over. Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav then added 49 runs for the 2nd wicket. Kohli and Hardika Pandya added 81 runs in 40 balls in their unbroken partnersip for the 3rd wicket.  Kohli has scored 231 runs in the five-match T20I series. Rohit, the Hit-Man, scored his 22nd fifty in T20I in this match. Hardik Pandya hit Chris Jordan two sixes on successive balls in the 19th over.
