Ara : Some miscreants shot at and injured a cricketer in Ramnagar locality under Nawada police station (PS), Ara, on March 17, 2021, late evening, when he was returning home after playing cricket.
The injured was rushed to Ara Sadar Hospital but the doctor referred him to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) but his family members took him to a Pursing Home at Ara for treatment where the doctor performed surgery and took out the bullets from his body. The injured was identified as Uttam Kumar, 25, son of Rajesh Rai of Ramnagar Chandawa under Nawada PS in Bhojpur District in South Bihar. Old enmity is said to be the cause behind the incident.
An FIR has been lodged with the police in this connection. Police are investigating the matter. The injured is originally a resident of Badaki Khadaon village under Sahar PS in Bhojpur District but lives at his house in Ramnagar locality under Nawada PS.
Uttam Kumar said that two groups of the area had quarreled over a trivial matter during Saraswati Puja on February 16, 2021 and he had interceded and the matter was settled at that time. But some youth of a group developed enmity with him and on March 17, 2021, evening, when he was returning home after playing cricket bike borne miscreants intercepted and fired on him and escaped, he added.
