Patna : Afghanistan beat Zimbabwe by 6 wickets in the 2nd test at Sheikh Zayed Stadium,Abu Dhabi, UAE, on March 14, 2021, to level the two-match test series 1-1. Zimbabwe, however, put up a strong resistance before folding up for 365 in 148.5 overs in their second innings with captain Sean Williams scoring unbeaten 151 in 309 balls hitting 13 fours and 1 six and fast medium bowler Donald Tiripano scoring 95 in 258 balls with 16 fours. Williams and Tiripano added 187 runs for the 8th wicket. Williams and Blessing Muzarabqani then added 33 runs for the 9th wicket.

Zimbabwe, who were all out for 287 in their first innings and were forced to follow on, set a target of 108 runs for Afghanistan, who had declared their first innings at 545/4 in 160.4 overs. Trailining by a huge 258 runs on first innings, Zimbabwe put up a tremendous fightback taking the match to the fifth day. Afghanistan scored 108/4 in 26.1 overs in 2nd innings with Rahmat Shah scoring 58 in 76 balls with 9 fours and 1 six.

Hashmatullah Shahidi, who scored an unbeaten 200 in first innings, was named Player Of The Match while Zimbabwe captain Sean Williams was named Player Of The Series for scoring century in both the tests. Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan took 11 wickets in the match including 7 wickets in Zimbabwe 2nd innings.
