Patna : Set a target of 370 runs, South Africa (SA) were 127/1 in 41 overs in their second innings at stumps on Day 4 in the 2nd test against Pakistan at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi, Pakistan, on February 7, 2021, with opener Aiden Markram unbeaten on 59 in 131 balls hitting 9 fours and 2 sixes and Rassie van der Dussen batting on 48 in 94 balls with 8 fours. Opener Dean Elgar fell to fast bowler Shaheen Afridi for 17 in 24 balls with 4 fours making it 33/1.

Aiden Markram and Rassie van der Dussen have so far added 94 runs in 197 balls in their unbeaten partnership for the 2nd wicket. SA need to score 243 runs on Day 5 to win the 2nd test. Pakistan lead the two-match test series 1-0.

Earlier resuming at their overnight score of 129/6, Pakistan were all out for 298 in 102 overs with Mohd Rizwan (wk) scoring an unbeaten 115 in 204 balls with 15 fours. Rizwan and spinner Yasir Shah added 53 runs for the 8th wicket. Yasir Shah fell to spinner George Linde for 23. Rizwan then added 97 runs for the 9th wicket with spinner Nauman Ali.

Nauman Ali fell to fast bowler Kagiso Rabada for 45 in 78 balls hitting 6 fours and 2 sixes. Fast bowler Shaheen Afridi fell to Linde for 4 and Pakistan were all out for 298 after being reduced to 143/7 in the first session of play on Day 5 as medium fast bowler Hasan Ali fell to Keshav Maharaj for 5.

For SA, George Linde took 5/64 in 26 overs while fellow spinner Keshav Maharaj took 3/118 in 38 overs. Fast bowler Kagiso Rabada took 2/34 in 14 overs.
