New Delhi : A total of 22,273 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,01,69,118 cases at 8 am on De ember 26, 2020. On the other hand, 22,274 Covid-19 patients were declared cured/ discharged in the country in last 24 hours taking the tally to 97,40,108 on December 26, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (2,81,667) by huge margin of 94,58,441. The number of active cases was only 2.77% of the total cases recorded so far on December 26, 2020, a drop of 252 cases in last 24 hours.

Of the 1,01,69,118 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in the country, altogether 97,40,108  patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 95.78% on December 26, 2020. India has tested 16,71,59,289 samples so far including 8,53,527 samples on December 25, 2020.

The Covid-19 toll increased to 1,47,343 in India on December 26, 2020, with 251 new deaths being recorded in last 24 hours including 71 in Maharashtra, 31 in West Bengal, 30 in Delhi, 16 in Kerala, 14 in Chhattisgarh, 12 in Uttar Pradesh, 12 in Madhya Pradesh, 12 in Tamilnadu, 9 in Punjab, 7 in Rajasthan, 6 in Gujarat, 5 in Karnataka, 5 in Uttarakhand, 4 in Haryana, 2 in Andhra Pradesh, and 2 in Bihar. The Case Fatality Rate remained pegged at 1.45% in the country on December 26, 2020.  India had recorded 336 new deaths on December 25, 2020.
