New Delhi : Only 22,890 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally of cases recorded so far in the country to 99,79,447 cases at 8 am on December 18, 2020. In contrast, 31,087 Covid-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in last 24 hours in India taking the tally to 95,20,827 on December 18, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (3,13,831) by a huge margin of 92,06,996 on December 18.
The number of active cases in India was only 3.14% of the total cases recorded till date in the country on December 18, 2020, a drop of 8,535 cases during last 24 hours.
Of the 99,79,447 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in India, altogether 95,20,827 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 95.40% on December 18, 2020. India has tested 15,89,18,646 samples so far including 11,13,406 samples on December 17, 2020.
The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,44,789 in India on December 18, 2020, with 338 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 65 from Maharashtra, 44 from West Bengal, 35 from Delhi, 27 from Kerala, 18 from Uttar Pradesh, 17 from Haryana, 15 from Punjab, 11 from Rajasthan, 11 from Tamilnadu,11 from Chhattisgarh, 10 from Karnataka, 10 from Himachal Pradesh, 9 from Uttarakhand, 9 from Madhya Pradesh, 9 from J&K, 8 from Gujarat, 5 from Bihar, 3 from Jharkhand, and 2 from Andhra Pradesh. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.45% in the country on December 18, 2020. India had recorded 355 new deaths on December 17, 2020.
