Ara : Some unidentified persons shot dead a farmer at village Karath under Tarari police station in Bhojpur District in South Bihar on November 15, 2020, late evening. The deceased was identified as Ajay Kumar Singh alias Murar Singh, 50, son of Navrang Singh of Karath village.
An FIR has been lodged with Tarari police station in this connection. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants. Personal rivalry is said to be cause behind the incident.
Piro DSP Ashok Kumar Azad said that Ajay Kumar Singh along with his son Rakesh Kumar Singh had gone to the outskirts of the village on evening stroll on November 15, 2020. When he was returning, a miscreant of the village Amit Kumar came to him and saluted him. Later, he shot at on his head from point blank range and escaped. The villagers rushed Ajay to a private clinic at Bikramanj in Rohtas where the doctor referred him to Patna Medical College and Hospital(PMCH in view of his precarious condition but he succumbed to his injuries on way to PMCH. The DSP said that Amit Kumar and Ajay Kumar Singh earlier lived together.
