Patna : NDA was leading in 127 out of 243 assembly Constituencies (ACs) in Bihar Assembly polls at 2.23 pm on November 10, 2020, with the BJP ahead of others in 73 constituencies appearing set to emerge as the largest single party while the JD(U) was leading in 47 constituencies,nd VIP in 6 constituencies and HAM(S) in 1, proving the Exit Polls completely wrong.
Mahagathbandhan was leading in 105 ACs. RJD was leading in 67 ACs while Congress was leading in 20 ACs, CPI(ML) Liberation in 12 ACs and CPI and CPM in 3 each. Almost all the Exit Polls had shown RJD led Mahagathbandhan getting huge majority in the polls. Independents were leading in 5 constituencies while BSP and All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen were leading in 2 ACs each.
BJP stalwarts Nand Kishore Yadav Patna Sahib), Prem Kumar ( Gaya Town), Ram Narayan Mandal (Banka), Nitish Mishra ( Jhanjharpur), Vinod Nayan Jha (Benipatti), and Dr Ramprit Paswan (Rajnagar), were leading. Mahagathbandhan’s chief ministerial candidate Tejaswi Yadav was also leading in Raghopur AC in Vaishali District while his elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav was leading in Hasanpur in Samastipur District.
VIP chief Mukesh Sahni, a former Bollywood set designer, was leading in Simri Bakhtiarpur AC in Saharsa District. Independent Sumit Singh, son of former minister Narendra Singh, was leading in Chakai constituency in Jamui District while BJP nominee Shreyashi Singh, daughter of former Union Minister Digvijay Singh, was leading in Jamui AC by a big margin over the RJD candidate Vijay Prakash. Shreyashi Singh had won Gold Medal in shooting in 2018 Commonwealth Games. Counting of votes has been tardy because of various protocols in place in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
