Ara : Police on November 6, 2020, took three persons under custody for interrogation in connection with Shahpur Bank loot case. Police have also intensified raids to arrest miscreants on the revelation of these persons.

For armed miscreants entered the Madhya Bihar Gramin Bank, Etawa branch at Shahpur in Bhojpur District in South Bihar on November 3, 2020,snatched key of iron chest at pistol point from the Cashier and decamped with about Rs 9 lakh cash. An FIR was lodged with the police against four persons on the statement of the Cashier of the Bank Mukesh Meena. On the instruction of Bhojpur SP Har Kishore Rai, a police team was formed to investigate the matter and arrest miscreants.

Branch Manager, Ranveer Anand, said that he was out of the bank along with an employee for settlement of loans while the Cashier was on duty in the bank when four miscreants with their face covered with masks entered the bank on the pretext of meeting Branch Manager, snatched key of the iron chest from the Cashier at pistol point and looted about Rs. 9 lakh. They were talking in Bhojpuri.

The miscreants also took away CCTV, DVR, and a computer with them. They escaped towards Buxar on motorcycle but one of them left his helmet behind which the police seized. Someone allegedly worked as liner and recce was done to knowthe number of the employees in the bank before the loot. Police are conducting raids at different places in Bhojpur, Buxar, and Uttar Pradesh. Seven bank loot cases have taken place in Bhojpur District during last seven years.
