Buxar : Police had to beat a hasty retreat after the villagers pelted them with stones on November 2, 2020, evening, when they went to village Banarpur under Buxar Muffasil police station in Buxar District to arrest liquor smugglers.
SHO, Buxar Muffasil police station, said that he got information that some persons were selling liquor and also boozing at Nishad Bhawan at Banarpur village in the late evening on November 2, 2020. He immediately swung into action and with a police force conducted raids. Seeing police, some persons tried to escape from the spot but some others who had nothing to do with liquor stayed there But police started thrashing all of them. At this, villagers became agitated and pelted cops with stones forcing them to leave the spot.
Buxar SP Neeraj Kumar Singh denied incident of stole pelting and added that situation is well under control. Police are investigating into the matter.
