Patna : COVID-19 cases rose to 1,88,858 in BiharĀ on October 5, 2020, afternoon, with 907 persons including 195 from Patna, 45 from East Champaran, 38 from Gopalganj, 37 from Begusarai, 35 each from Purnia and Muzaffarpur, 34 from Madhepura, and 31 from Bhagalpur, testing positive to it.
According to State Health Department figure, 27 persons from Aurangabad, 26 from West Champaran, 25 from Katihar, 24 from Rohtas, 23 from Nawada, 23 from Sitamarhi, 22 from Gaya, 22 from Saharsa, 20 each from Saran and Vaishali, 19 from Supaul, 18 from Nalanda, 15 each from Bhojpur, Lakhisarai, and Darbhanga, also tested positive to COVID-19 on October 4, 2020.
Of the 1,88,858 in Bihar till date, altogether 1,76,674 patients have been declared cured including 1,565 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 93.55%. The State has tested 77,89,608 samples till date including 87,769 samples on October 4, 2020. The number of active cases was 11,259 in Bihar on October 5, 2020.
The COVID-19 toll jumped to 924 in Bihar on October 5, 2020, with 9 new deaths being reported in the state during last 24 hours including 7 from Patna, and one each from Nalanda and Madhubani. The toll increased to 222 in Patna on October 5, 2020.
