Ara : A pregnant woman and her unborn child died on October 4, 2020, morning, at private Nursing Home near Doghara Tola village under Bihia police station in Bhojpur District where she was allegedly being treated by a quack. The quack escaped from the place after the incident.

As the news spread, villagers and family members of the deceased blocked Bihia roundabout with the body raising slogans against the district administration. They burnt tyres on road paralysing movement of vehicles for about two hours. They were demanding arrest of the quack and compensation to the family of the deceased. The blockade was lifted after positive response from the police officials. Later, the police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.  The deceased was identified as Manisha Devi, wife of Amit Paswan of Basudeopur village under Bihia police station.

SHO, Bihia police station, said that Amit Paswan admitted his wife Manisha Devi for delivery at  a private nursing home near Doghara Tola on October 3, 2020, late evening, where allegedly a quack treated her and the woman and her unborn child died during treatment. The quack escpaed. The SHO said that  police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the quack.
