New Delhi : The exponential increase in the number of COVID-19 patients being declared cured continues in India with over one lakh (1,01,468) patients being declared cured/discharged during last 24 hours taking the tally to 44,97,867 in the country at 8 am on September 22, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases ( 9,75,861) by a huge margin of 35,22,006. India also recorded 75,083 new cases during last 24 hours taking the tally to 55,62,663 in the country. The number of active cases was 17.54 % of the total cases (55,62,663) on September 22, 2020.
Of the 55,62,663 COVID cases reported in the country, a total of 44,97,867 patients have been cured till date with the recovery rate being 80.86%. India has tested 6,53, 25, 779 COVID samples so far including 9,33,185 on September 21, 2020.
The COVID-19 death has jumped to 88,935 in the country with 1,053 new deaths being reported during last 24 hours from different parts of the country with Maharashtra reporting 344 new deaths and Karnataka 122.. Maharashtra alone has reported 33,015 deaths till date followed by 8,811 in Tamilnadu, 8,145 in Karnataka, 5,410 in Andhra Pradesh, and 5,135 in Uttar Pradesh. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.6 % in the country on September 22, 2020.
The COVID-19 death toll break-up in India on September 22, 2020, is : Maharashtra (33,015), Tamilnadu (8,871), Karnataka (8,145), Delhi (5,014), Andhra Pradesh (5,410), Uttar Pradesh (5,135), West Bengal (4,421), Gujarat (3,336), Madhya Pradesh (2,007), Rajasthan (1,352), Punjab (2,860), Telengana (1,052), J&K (1,024), Haryana (1,177), Bihar (870), Odisha (710), Jharkhand (626), Assam (578), Uttarakhand (501), Kerala (553), Chhattisgarh (690), Puducherry (467), Goa (360), Tripura (251), Chandigarh (126), Andaman & Nicobar (52), Himachal Pradesh (127), Ladakh (50), Manipur (59), Nagaland (15), Meghalaya (37), Arunachal Pradesh (13), Sikkim (29), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2 ).
