Patna : COVID-19 cases rose to 1,64,224 in Bihar on September 17, 2020, with 1,592 more persons including 290 from Patna, 96 from Purnia, 95 from Araria, 88 from Saharsa, 75 from Bhagalpur, 72 from Supaul, and 67 from Muzaffarpur, testing positive to it on September 16, 2020.

According to State Health Department figure, 54 persons from Madhubani, 48 from East Champaran, 45 from Nalanda, 43 from Lakhisarai, 42 from Gopalganj, 41 from Katihar, 40 from Rohtas, 38 from Jamui, 35 from Siwan, 34 from Gaya, and 34 from Madhepura,also tested positive to COVID-19 on September 16, 2020.

Of the 1,64,224 COVID-19 cases reported in Bihar so far, altogether 1,49,722 patients have been declared cured till date including 1,465 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 91.17 %. The number of active cases in the state was 13,646 on September 17, 2020. The state has tested 53,07,337 COVID samples till date including 1,05,128 samples on September 16.

COVID-19 toll jumped to 855 on September 17, 2020, with 7 new deaths being reported from different places including two from Rohtas, and one each from Patna, Vaishali, Bhagalpur, Nalanda,and Khagaria. The toll in Patna increased to 193 on September 17.
