Patna : COVID-19 cases jumped to 1,62,632 in Bihar on September 16, 2020, afternoon, as 1,531 more persons including 215 from Patna, 109 from Saharsa, 95 from Bhagalpur, 72 from Araria, 71 from Madhubani, 69 from Muzaffarpur, 67 from Nalanda, and 63 from Supaul, tested positive to it on September 15, 2020.
According to State Health Department figure, 57 persons from Saran, 53 from East Champaran, 52 from Begusarai, 47 from Gopalganj,37 from Madhepura, 33 from Rohtas, 34 from Darbhanga, 30 from Purnia, 28 from West Champaran, 28 from Aurangabad, and 26 from Gaya also tested positive to CIVID-19 on September 15, 2020.
Of the 1,62,632 COVID-19 cases reported so far in Bihar, altogether 1,48,257 patients have been declared cured including 1,724 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 91.16 %. The number of active cases in Bihar was 13,526 on September 16, 2020. Bihar has tested 52,02,209 COVID-19 samples so far including 1,07,970 samples on September 15, 2020.
On the negative side, COVID-19 death toll climbed to 848 on September 16, 2020, with 12 new deaths being reported from different places across the state including four from Patna, two from Bhojpur,two from Aurangabad, and one each from Buxar, Vaishali, Samastipur, and East Champaran.
