Ara : Police, on a tip off, conducted raids at a house at Banshitola under Agiaw Bazaar police station in Bhojpur District in connection with liquor smuggling and seized a double barrel gun, one rifle, and 11 live cartridges, and arrested three persons : Dalipan Singh and his two sons Veer Bahadur Singh and Rakesh Singh. Police, however, could not seize liquor from there. A named FIR was lodged by Agiaw Bazaar police station against them under the Arms Act and they were sent to jail after interrogation.

Bhojpur SP Har Kishore Rai said that he had received information on September 9, 2020, morning, that Veer Bahadur Singh had kept liquor and firearms at his house. The SP immediately formed a police team under the SHO, Agiaw Bazaar police station, which conducted raid at the house of Veer Bahadur Singh. Seeing police, some persons tried to escape from the place but police chased and arrested Dalipan Singh, his two sons Veer Bahadur Singh and Rakesh Singh. Police searched the house and seized a double barrel gun, one rifle and 11 live cartridges. During interrogation, they disclosed that a big consignment of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) has been sent to Rohtas.

The SP said that the arrested persons were involved in liquor smuggling for long and kept firearms to establish their influence in the area. He said that a case in pending against Rakesh Singh in Rohtas district.
