New Delhi : The exponential increase in the number of COVID-19 patients being declared cured/discharged continues in India reaching 31,80,865 at 8 am on September 6, 2020, a record increase of 73,642 during last 24 hours, exceeding number of active cases in the country by a huge margin of 23,18,545.
India has tested 4,88,31,145 COVID-19 samples till date including 10,92,654 on September 5, 2020. The country has reported 41,13,811 COVID cases till date with 90,632 new cases being reported during last 24 hours. Of the 41,13,811 COVID cases reported till date, 31,80,865 patients have been declared cured/discharged with the recovery rate being 77.32 %. The number of active cases was 8,62,320 in the country on September 6, 2020, which is 20.96 % of the total cases reported till date in India.
The COVID-19 death toll, on the other hand, jumped to 70,626 in India on September 6, 2020, with 1,065 new deaths being reported from different places in the country including 312 from Maharashtra, 128 from Karnataka, 61 from Tamilnadu, 71 from Andhra Pradesh, 69 from Punjab, 25 from Delhi, 15 from Gujarat, 30 from Madhya Pradesh, 81 from UP, and 58 from West Bengal. The Case Fatality Rate had dropped to 1.72% in the country on September 6, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The COVID-19 toll break-up in India on September 6, 2020, is : Maharashtra (26,276), Tamilnadu (7,748), Karnataka (6,298), Delhi (4,538), Andhra Pradesh (4,347), Uttar Pradesh (3,843), West Bengal (3,510), Gujarat (3,091), Madhya Pradesh (1,543), Rajasthan (1,122), Punjab (1,808), Telengana (886), J&K (770), Haryana (781), Bihar (735), Odisha (538), Jharkhand (462), Assam (352), Uttarakhand (330), Kerala (337), Chhattisgarh (356), Puducherry (298), Goa (229), Tripura (144), Chandigarh (69), Andaman & Nicobar (50), Himachal Pradesh (54), Ladakh (35), Manipur (36), Nagaland (10), Meghalaya (15), Arunachal Pradesh (8), Sikkim (5), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2 ).
As far Bihar figure goes, according to State Health Department, the COVID death toll was 750 in the state on September 5, 2020.
