Patna : COVID-19 cases jumped to ,106,618 in Bihar on August 17, 2020, as 2,525 more persons including 303 from Patna, 203 from Madhubani, 143 from Muzaffarpur, 137 from East Champaran, 131 from Begusarai, 129 from Purnia, tested positive to it on August 16, 2020. The state has tested 1,07,727 COVID samples during last 24 hours.
According to State Health Department sources, 98 persons from Katihar, 91 from Nalanda, 87 from Saharsa, 80 from Sitamarhi, 78 from Bhagalpur, 68 each from Gopalganj and Siwan, 67 from Buxar, 66 from Saran, 60 from Aurangabad, 57 from Darbhanga, 54 from Jehanabad, and 52 from West Champaran also tested positive to COVID on August 16, 2020.
A total of 76,706 patients have been declared cured in Bihar till date including 4,140 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 71.94 %.
The COVID death toll in Bihar has climbed to 542 with five new deaths being reported from different parts of the state during last 24 hours including three from Patna, and one each from Gaya and Kishanganj. The COVID death toll in Patna has increased to 104.
