Patna : COVID-19 cases rose to 90,553 in Bihar on August 12, 2020, with 3,741 more persons including 529 from Patna, 254 from Begusarai, 200 from Katihar, 175 from Saharsa, 169 from East Champaran, 169 from Madhubani, 160 from Muzaffarpur, 140 from Rohtas, 124 from Purnia, 148 from Saran, and 107 from Gaya, testing positive to it on August 11, 2020.
According to State Health Department sources, 97 persons from Vaishali, 95 from Bhojpur, 92 from Nalanda, 86 from West Champaran, 85 from Buxar, 81 from Samastipur, 81 from Sitamarhi, 77 from Aurangabad, 71 from Araria, 70 from Bhagalpur, 69 from Jehanabad, and 61 from Gopalganj also tested positive to COVID-19 on August 11,2020, in the state.
Out of 90,553 COVID-19 cases, 60,068 patients have been declared cured the recovery rate being 66.33% A total of 3,069 patients were declared cured during last 24 hours in the state. The number of active cases stands at 30,010.
Meanwhile, the COVID death toll in Bihar climbed to 474 with 9 new deaths being reported from different parts of the state during last 24 hours including one each from Patna, Jehanabad, Arwal, Bhagalpur, Samastipur, Bhojpur, Begusarai, Madhubani, and Supaul. The COVID death toll has increased to 91 in Patna, 40 in Bhagalpur, 29 in Gaya, 24 in Rohtas, 23 in Munger, 22 in Nalanda, 18 in Bhojpur, 18 in Muzaffarpur, 17 in Vaishali, 16 in East Champaran, and 15 in Samastipur.
