Patna : The number of COVID cases rose to 68,148 in Bihar on August 6, 2020, afternoon, with 3,416 more persons including 603 from Patna, 234 from Katihar, 190 from East Champaran, 163 from Vaishali, 139 from Samastipur, 128 from Bhagalpur, 118 from Muzaffarpur, 106 from Rohtas, 102 from Nalanda, and 101 from Saharsa, testing positive to it on August 5, 2020.

According to State Health Department sources, 94 from Saran,  92 each from Buxar and Siwan, 90 from Bhojpur, 89 from West Champaran, 80 from Purnia, 77 each from Araria and Gaya, 75 from Madhubani, 69 from Sheikhpura,66 from Begusarai, 65 from Sitamarhi, 58 from Banka, 57 from Munger, 50 from Khagaria, and 40 from Darbhanga also tested positive to COVID on August 5, 2020. A total of 43,820 patients have been declared cured in the state till date the recovery rate being 64.30%.

The COVID death toll in Bihar also surged to 388 on August 6, 2020, with 19 new deaths being reported from different parts of the state during last 24 hours including 7 from Patna, two from Bhagalpur, two from Gaya, one each from Madhepura, Sitamarhi, Khagaria, Bhojpur and Rohtas.

The death toll climbed to 67 in Patna. A Muzaffarpur Physician Dr Sanjiv Kumar, 35,  died to COVID-19 at AIIMS Patna on August 6, 2020. With this, 17 doctors have died due to Coronavirus in Bihar till date. the COVID death toll jumped to 33 in Bhagalpur, 26 in Gaya, and 23 in Rohtas.
